Peter Sheldon
Opening Keynote session - 9.30am to 10.00am
Move over Millennials, there’s a new online shopper in town.
In the first of 2 keynote speeches, Peter Sheldon asks what is next for eCommerce? With the pandemic fast-forwarding the industry quicker than a DeLorean built by Doc. Brown, about half the population of the UK now fully vaccinated and brick and mortar shops being able to reopen again, where does the future of eCommerce lay?
According to Peter Sheldon, it is in the hands of the Gen Z shopper.
What is Gen Z?
Short for generation Z, they are people born roughly between 1990 and 2010. They are also known as the digital natives because they are the first generation to have grown up with easy access to the internet, mobile devices and other digital technologies from a very young age.
Gen Z's commonly spend more and more time using technological devices to complete everyday tasks, like shopping and highly value things like expression, truth and dialogue.
How do you cater to Gen Z?
With this in mind, it is vital to know how to tailor your business to accommodate this new generational wave of customers who are all starting to earn their first pay packets.
And that is where this keynote seminar will take us. Peter Sheldon will be looking at the impact that the Gen Z shopper will have on eCommerce over the next few years. How a Gen Z customers influence will lead to new forms of digital commerce and ultimately what the commerce industry will need to do to entice and convert this upcoming generation into loyal, returning customers.
Who is this session for?
If you are a merchant with any kind of store, online or physical, then this is a must for you. If you run an agency or are a service provider then this is also a must for you. If you are an e-commerce consultant then this is a must for you.
Basically, if you are involved in any kind of commerce, this is a must! Why? Because regardless of whether you meet them today, tomorrow or years from now, one day Gen Z will be your customer, your client, maybe even your boss and you are going to need to know how to work with them.
Who is Peter Sheldon?
Over the years, Peter has held prestigious positions such as senior eCommerce developer at Ford Motor Company, Senior developer at JP Morgan Chase, Product marketing manager at Elastic path software Inc., VP & principal analyst at Forrester Research and senior director of strategy at Magento. Peter is now the senior director for commerce and strategy at Adobe.
He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the world of eCommerce and digital technologies, making him a prime candidate to lead this keynote.
