Meet Magento UK '22 - Keynote sessions with Peter Bell & John Baxendale

Welcome to the last post in our Meet Magento UK 2022 series! Tomorrow is the big day and by this time tomorrow MMUK will be in full swing. Over the last two weeks, we've covered every talk in both the business and technical tracks, all of which are available on our website. However, there are two more sessions that need covering and those are the opening and closing keynotes, but before we give our predictions and thoughts on these pivotal talks, let's take some time to lay some ground rules.

So for the last time this year, we'd like to remind you that in-person, live events are always subject to change, speakers can get sick, topics can change and even venues can be closed at the last minute. At the time of writing this blog, all of the information is accurate, however, we encourage you to check out the Meet Magento UK website and social feeds to get the latest information. With that said, let's get right into our first keynote of the day.

Get your note pads and pens at the ready and down your double espresso because Peter Bell is about to drop some knowledge! In this session, he will be sharing and explaining the results that Adobe has collected from its recent consumer preferences survey as well as offering insights on how you can leverage this information to become a better ... insert job title here!

We've seen over the past few weeks that the tracks are heavily focused on the customer experience and while we know that the customer is not always right when it comes to policies and procedures but they are, mostly, right when it comes to their own preference! Listening to the needs and wants of your customers is a sure-fire way to increase your customer's satisfaction and experience when visiting your site. Of course, the ever-increasing problem is that customers are forever changing their minds and moving the goal posts.

We are way past the days of 'show em shiny and get the clicks', the modern-day customer is smarter, more independent and more mindful than ever before. In this session Peter Bell will talk about the recent customer preference trends such as their need for continuing personalisation, habits in search now - buy later, their inclination to brands that have a strong, like-minded vision and brands that not only promote but also practice ethical commerce. 

The title of this final session of the day really tells you everything you need to know about it, John Baxendale will be talking ALL things Magento/Adobe. Glancing back at the past and what has been achieved to this point, examining the present and no doubt looking at the incredible growth and advancements made over the last two years and also vision casting, looking to the future and the potential that is to come.

But most importantly it's a celebration of the community behind the platform, the code crunching developers, entrepreneuring extension providers, the masterful merchants, the creative clients, the agile agencies and the proactive partners from past, present and future. It's about the people! Because let's face it without the people, there is no Magento, no Adobe, no product and that's what makes this more than a platform!
