Practical code architecture — here's how to thank yourself six months in the future

We've all been there, that call comes in from a client saying there's something wrong with something we built for them a few months back and they need us to fix it. This makes for a few issues, firstly, it could take hours, days or weeks of work to figure it out, which in turn could set other projects for this client or others back. Secondly, it could blow the budget your client has set and lead to a ... "fun" conversation. Thirdly, and in my opinion the most important issue, it could tarnish your, until now, spotless reputation as a great developer.

The reality is that at some point it happens to all of us, and the important thing to do in those instances is to learn and adapt your processes. There is a saying that goes "prevention is the best cure" and that's exactly what Joseph Maxwell will be talking about in this session. Sharing his past experiences, Joseph will be sharing with you the solutions he uses in order to avoid those calls altogether helping you to keep your work on track, on or under budget and keep your reputation intact.

Is this session for me?

If you are a new, up-and-coming developer or if you seem to be having this problem a lot then this talk will be gold for you! You may also find this talk helpful if you run a team of developers or are in a position of responsibility, learning some of the processes that you can take back to your teams to implement as safety checks is never a bad thing.
